Live Your Best Life

The Stable Place is dedicated to providing compassionate and professional therapeutic supports and social and community participation services in the Newcastle, Port Stephens and Hunter Region.

Nature-Based & Relational

The Stable Place is nature-based and relational, offering a safe, grounded setting that supports emotional regulation, confidence, skill building, and engagement at a pace that feels right for the participant.

Psychology at The Stable Place is grounded in trauma-informed care, affirming neurodiversity, and prioritising participant choice. Support is integrated into real-life activities rather than confined to clinic rooms.

Social & Community Participation

Participants are encouraged to visit The Stable Place multiple times each week as part of their NDIS core funded services, focusing on social skills development, work skill building, or general community engagement.

Flexible Engagement

Our chief aim is to provide flexible engagement opportunities that suit the individual needs of our participants. Participation in psychology services is optional — individuals can enjoy the environment without engaging in clinical supports.

Psychology Sessions at The Stable Place

You do not need to book psychology sessions in advance if you are already visiting us as part of an NDIS-funded Social and Community Participation engagement package.

💬

Support When You Need It

Support from a psychologist can occur whenever requested by the participant and/or if a Psychologist or Therapy Assistant detects distress, dysregulation, or identifies a therapeutic opportunity during activities.

🌱

Naturally Integrated

A psychology "session" during a regular visit could be a brief grounding exercise or an in-depth therapeutic conversation, tailored to the participant's immediate needs. Interventions are seamlessly integrated into natural experiences with people, animals, and the environment.

📋

Flexible Billing

Psychology and Behaviour Support services can be billed in as small as 15-minute increments. Billable time does not need to be set in minimum 1-hour sessions — therapeutic engagement can occur opportunistically and aligned to the individual needs of the participant.

Prefer structured appointments? For those who prefer it, 1-hour dedicated sessions can also be scheduled in advance, allowing for focused therapeutic work, with or without participation in onsite Social and Community activities.
